Table of Contents

On Saturday night, 04 October 2025, Mamelodi Sundowns debutant, Miguel Silva Reisinho received a red card after a reckless challenge on a Marumo Gallants player in the Carling Knockout Cup match played at the Lucas Moripe stadium in Tshwane, Pretoria. The 26 year old Portuguese midfielder had only been on the pitch for just 6 minutes when he got sent off.

This must definitely be a debut the player would like to forget. But we, at the historyofsouthafricanfootball.com have a responsibility to record such rare event. Sundowns went on to lose the match on penalties.
