Career
Football Administration & Club Development
– In the late 1980s, Mnisi was approached by Vincent Twala, James Mathe, and Speech Ndlovu of Classic FC to help them build the club. The club was playing in the NPSL.
– He advised the club to move to the National Soccer League (NSL). To achieve that, they needed to buy the status of an NSL Team. Sinky Mnisi then orchestrated the purchase of Dobsonville Sundowns which was playing in the third division for NSL. They bought the club for R27 000.
– Through smart marketing, he secured NCP (National Chemical Products) as sponsors and negotiated for them to build Classic FC’s training grounds in Chloorkop—now the training home of Mamelodi Sundowns.
– As a result of his contributions, he was granted 10% ownership in Classic FC. The club was promoted to NSL’s First Division in its first year.
– Mnisi began scouting and recruiting top talent like Arthur Zwane and Collin Zimba, eventually selling Zwane to Kaizer Chiefs for R25,000.
