Mmabatho Stadium

The Mmabatho Stadium is situated in Mafikeng in the North-West Province.

It was constructed in 1981 in the former Bophuthatswana Bantustan during the apartheid era. Then, Bophuthatswana was regarded as a separate country from South Africa.

Current Use:

According to sources, the Mmabatho Stadium is under the threat of becoming a white elephant. Football matches rarely take place here. However, other events such as music concerts and political rallies occasionally take place.

Interesting Fact:

The design of Mmabatho Stadium is similar to that of Odi Stadium.
