Mehlareng Stadium

Mehlareng Stadium is situated in the township of Tembisa, 40 kms from Johannesburg.

In the 1980s and 1990s, it used to buzz with PSL matches. Mehlareng Stadium used to be used by Jomo Cosmos FC and Tembisa Classic for their home matches before the clubs were relegated.

After that, the stadium was used mostly by the community for community events. The Philly’s Games used to be played here.

Local amateur football clubs such as M Tigers also used the stadium. Tembisa-born DJ Shimza, used to use the Mehlareng Stadium as a venue for his annual Show Your Legs concert.

Current Use

However, Mehlareng Stadium has since become dilapidated and out of use. In 2022, GroundUp reported that Mehlareng Stadium has become a dumping side.
