Table of Contents

Peter Mokaba Stadium is also known as the new Peter Mokaba Stadium. This is because it was constructed not far from the old Polokwane stadium which has also been renamed Peter Mokaba Stadium. It was officially opened in January 2010, just in time for the FIFA World Cup.

The stadium was named so after a former politician and former president of the ANC Youth League. Peter Mokaba Stadium is situated in the city of Polokwane in the Limpopo Province.

Capacity

45, 500 people

Current use

Currently the stadium serves as home ground of Polokwane City FC, Baroka FC, Sekhukhune FC and sometimes it hosts Kaizer Chiefs matches too. Peter Mokaba Stadium is sometimes also used by the South African national team (Bafana Bafana) to host international matches.

Popular artists such as Makhadzi and Benny Mayengani have also used the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
