Old Stadiums Before the 2010 FIFA World Cup

The Athlone Stadium is situated on the Cape Flats in Cape Town. It was built in 1972 and it has a capacity of 34 000 seats.

The stadium was upgraded in the lead up to the 2010 FIFA World and it was used as a training venue during the tournament.

It was used as home ground by Ajax Cape Town FC and Santos FC before they were relegated.
